Sara Azari, Criminal Defense & White Collar Defense Attorney 

 

Sara Azari is a leading Los Angeles state and federal criminal and white collar defense lawyer defending clients in Southern California courts as well as in Unites States District Courts across the nation.  

 

She has earned a reputation as a tough and aggressive attorney who has represented numerous clients in cases resulting in successful verdicts and favorable resolutions.

After graduating from Southwestern University School of Law in 1999, Sara joined the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie in their Rio de Janeiro offices where she was associate practicing in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, internal investigations, and oil and gas transactional law involving multinational entities.  

 

Having realized that her passion was for litigation and courtroom performance, relocated to Los Angeles where she has devoted her career to the defense of those accused of criminal wrongdoing in state and federal court.    From 2002 to present, Sara Azari has passionately and rigorously defended individuals accused of criminal conduct.   In 2005, she opened the doors of the Law Office of Sara Azari.

 

Sara received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994, graduating with honors (Cum Laude).  She received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles in 1999, also graduating with honors (Cum Laude).

 

Sara Azari has been admitted to practice law in all California courts, the United States District Court, Central District of California, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

 

She has practiced before courts across the nation including the United States Military Courts, Edwards Air Force Base, United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, United States District Court, District of New Mexico (Las Cruces/Albuquerque), United States District Court, Southern District of Texas, and the United States District Court, Southern District of

New York

 

Sara is a member of the American Bar Association, International Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Criminal Courts Bar Association Women Lawyer’s Association and NACDL  (National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers)

 

Sara Azari has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2009, and further recognized as a Super Lawyer from 2010 to present.  In 2013, Sara was recognized as one of the top 50 Women Lawyers in California by Super Lawyers.  The Super Lawyers recognition is received by a very small number of lawyers in the nation each year.  Super Lawyers are nominated by their peers upon a rigorous evaluation in a number of areas, including proper licensing, peer recognition, and professional achievements.

 

From 2010 to present, Sara Azari has made numerous guest appearances on television networks and webcast programs as a legal analyst.   Some of her appearances include Fox News, Good Day LA, KTLA, and the TV Guide Network.  From 2014 to present, Sara hosts Justice Is Served, a weekly webcast delivering and analyzing trending legal news. 

 

Although an Angeleno at heart, Sara comes from a very diverse background.  Sara was born in Iran where she lived until the age of 7.  Forced to migrate with her family as a result of the revolution, she spent the next few years living in Europe, between England and France until 1983 when she moved to the U.S. and settled in Los Angeles. 

 

Sara is multilingual and fluent in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Farsi.  She is a gym rat and a health nut.  Her hobbies include boxing, backgammon, baking, and lots of traveling.
